Simone Octavia Stephen is a journalist, content creator, and creative strategist from Edison, New Jersey. A proud Hampton University graduate, Class of 2026, she earned a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Finance — bringing both a storyteller’s eye and a strategic mind to everything she creates.

Her work lives at the intersection of community, wellness, and identity. Through documentary film, editorial writing, audio storytelling, and social media, Simone brings overlooked narratives to the forefront with elegance, intention, and depth.

Throughout her time at Hampton University, she has produced documentary films, anchored sports broadcasts, written feature stories, and created editorial spreads that blend reporting with visual artistry. She has hosted campus events including the 2024 Homecoming Concert, moderated panels, and partnered on social media campaigns as a content creator, including her work as a Disney+ Campus Brand Ambassador. As Community Service Chair for the Hampton University Campus Ministry, she also organized and led numerous community service and outreach initiatives across the Hampton Roads area.

At the core of everything she does is a deep commitment to service — a value instilled in her as a lifelong Girl Scout. Simone believes storytelling is one of the most powerful tools a community has — and she takes that responsibility seriously. Her work is not just about reporting the news. It is about honoring people, preserving culture, and creating content that moves, informs, and endures.

Based in the Hampton Roads area, Simone is currently seeking opportunities in journalism, communications, and media where storytelling meets community impact.
